Huntsville, Ala. - There’s still time to get tickets to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Mars Masquerade. Ring in the New Year under the Saturn V Moon Rocket in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. The party starts Dec. 31 at 8 p.m., with the Flashbacks Show Band taking the stage with favorites from early Motown to today’s hits beginning at 8:30 p.m. Mars Masquerade is a black tie- and masquerade-optional event.
Feast on heavy hors d’oeuvres such as Steamship Round of Beef, Petite Smoked Gouda Potato Cakes with Tapenade Cream, a Creamy Grits Bar and much more from 8 until 10 p.m. Bars are open until 1 a.m., and a complimentary champagne toast takes place at midnight.
Some special touches to this year’s Mars Masquerade include projection mapping on the Davidson Center, inside and out, with sky beams leading you inside. The evening also includes a special imaging of fireworks on the Saturn V rocket at midnight.
The Rocket Center is partnering with the Huntsville Marriott, which is on the Rocket Center grounds, on hotel packages for the evening. Free transportation is available to and from the hotel from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
