Released
07/30/2020

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center will begin lighting the vertical Saturn V replica tonight to mark the progress of the “Save Space Camp” fundraising campaign. The lights go on today at sunset to show the campaign has raised one third of the minimum goal of $1.5 million in just two days. As the campaign progresses, the lights will continue to rise on the Saturn V.

Donors from all 50 states, Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico have contributed to the campaign as well as many living on military bases around the world. Donations have also come in from 26 countries outside the United States and its territories.

The staff of the Rocket Center and Space Camp has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the support and the heartwarming remarks made on the campaign site. Please continue to support this vital institution by visiting savespacecamp.com.
