HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The U.S. Space & Rocket Center has extended its closure through April 12 in response to continuing concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Space Camp is also closed until that time.
All employees who were scheduled to work will be paid through March 27 as previously planned. After March 27, employees may take up to two weeks of their earned paid time off.
Rocket Center CEO and Executive Director Louie Ramirez sent an email to employees today to notify them of the closure extension and his intention to update employees each week on the ever-evolving statue of the virus and its effect on center operations.
