U.S. Space & Rocket live streams James Webb Space Telescope image release Panel discussion follows at 1:30 p.m.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center will live stream NASA’s first full-color image release from the James Webb Space Telescope Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. The images will allow astro-scientists to see farther away and further back in time than ever before. David Weigel, INTUITIVE® Planetarium director, will be on hand to watch the image release with the public. At 1:30 p.m., Weigel will lead a panel discussion on the images with: Dr. Naveen Vetcha, engineer and task lead at Jacobs Space Exploration Group supporting the James Webb Space Telescope Dr. Philip Stahl, Senior Optical Physicist at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, who developed mirror technologies for the Webb Space Telescope and oversaw the manufacture, test and certification of the Webb primary, secondary and tertiary mirrors Dr. Chien-Ting Chen, a scientist for Universities Space Research Association/MSFC X-ray group studying observational astrophysics of supermassive black holes and their host galaxies using multiwavelength data Both events are included with museum admission.
